Ebola, I know one word that has a lot of meaning behind it, many people ask themselves what is this “Ebola” that everyone has been talking about, well keep your eyes on the screen, I might just have the answers to most of your questions. Growing up I heard about various diseases, but the one that in fact caught my attention was the horrifying deadly disease called Ebola “FYI” for your information it is a fever, often fatal illness in humans and it is transmitted through direct contact with blood, body fluids and tissues of infected persons and bodies can remain contagious for up to 60 days.
Powerful is the role of social media in
this digital age, this
disease was trending in the social media globally, as a young individual who
likes being informed, I just had to do a little bit of more research to actually
find out where this disease originated from. I came across this information
while I was researching “Ebola is a hemorrhagic fever transmitted from wild
animals to human beings, But how I asked myself? That’s just a sad condition.
Ebola symptoms may include hiccups, chest pains, rash, breathing problems. When
I actually found out this information, I just had to share this with you.

Let me give you some tips on how you can actually
prevent and control this disease
v Reducing the risk of wildlife-human transmission from contact with
infected fruits and animals and the consumption of their raw meat.
v Reducing the risk of human-to-human transmission, avoiding close contact with people who are infected with Ebola symptoms particularly with their bodily fluids, gloves and appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn when taking care of ill patients at home.
v Ebola infection should be handled by trained staff and processed in suitably equipped laboratories.

I think the need for ebola awareness is important even though it isnt a crisis in South Africa and you are right social media did play a big role in informing people about the progress of ebola
ReplyDeleteOh yes indeed it has, we live in the now and the now is modernized. Doctors are busy researching about this deadly disease. Hopefully in a few years time we will beat it and find a cure

DeleteEbola, Ebola, Ebola what a disease! although it was not a big issues in South Africa fact is it is still a deadly disease that took the lives of many people and I salute you sister for raising the Ebola issue because the awareness is still needed in addition, its true that social media played and is still playing a huge role in raising the Ebola awareness.

DeleteI think that The World Health Organisation is not doing enough to stop the Ebola crisis because this disease exists since the seventies.So why can't they find the vaccine after almost 40 years. It is annoying.
ReplyDeleteDoutsona, there are several health organizations fighting this disease. To show that something is happening, no matter how small it is but they are doing something because they are controlling it and not all infected patients die.

DeletePeople are so relaxed in South Africa and Ebola is far from over.I Personally think that its the worst thing ever ,looking at how many people died because of it and all the children that lost both parents due to Ebola its sad...
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad indeed. So many lost their loved ones through this disease. South Africa seems to be relaxed because most of them are not affected or even infected with the disease.
